The Clothespins Rise Again!

Well, sorta.

I haven't made a clothespin doll in a very long time.

And I miss them.

So, I'm going to try this 365 Clothespins project again. Starting October 1st of 2016.

Watch this space. The clothespins are coming. :)

Picking Up The Clothespins.... Nearly a Year Later

I don't think "I fell behind" quite covers it.

But it doesn't matter. I guess they don't have to be 365 clothespins made over 365 days. Just that there will ultimately be 365 of them. :)

It's all Woofie's fault that I'm thinking about picking this up again.

 I found the poor fluffy puppy, forgotten, in a box. And how could you resist that face?

So I've dusted off the clothespin books. I dug out all my crafty stuff. And I'm ready to start this up again. Next is who... clothespin doll #48?

Okay... I'm ready.

047/365 - Visitor for Thanksgiving & Getting Caught Up

(I fell behind. Between Thanksgiving, doggie problems, and the dollhouse store, I just got busy and clothespin dolls fell to the side. But, a day at home, full of dog snuggles, Swedish Goth Metal, and clothespins and I am all caught up and back on track! So, we now return you to your regularly scheduled 365 Clothespin Doll Project, already in progress! - Wendy)

This little lady looks like she needs a place to spend Thanksgiving. Come on in, little clothespin lady!

046/365 - Blonde Haired Angel

#046 - I'm like, an angel.

The funny part of this is, I'm not especially fond of angels. But I LOVE this little lady and her dark haired friend from yesterday.

Their wings are some kind of butterfly ornament from the dollar store.

Might be the best $1.00 purchase I've made in quite awhile.

045/365 - Angel with Gold Wings

#045 - Flutter, flutter, flutter.

Honestly, I am not normally a big fan of angels. But this little one just happened (as seems to be the case with a lot of these clothespins for me).

Another doll with no face, but I really like her. There's an elegance to the faceless dolls that the ones I paint (with big cartoony eyes) don't have.

I like both kinds, and I'll do cartoony clothespins again, I'm sure. But for now, I kind of like this style.

044/365 - Another Flower Fairy

#44 - Autumn is the hush before Winter.

This little flower fairy, and her orange sister before her, were kind of a departure for me. I would've said I didn't like dolls without faces, but I really like these two. Rather than being expressionless, they are in whatever mood the viewer sees them in. They have ALL expressions.

Or so it seems to me. :)

043/365 - Fall Flower Fairy

#043 - Better luck next year, little bush.

Maybe the colorful fairies of the Fall are here to comfort the trees, as they strip naked in public (maybe they're blushing, and that's what causes the reddish colors of the leaves?), and encouraging them to try for even more beautiful foliage next year.

Or maybe they sing them lullabies so they can sleep peacefully through the Winter.

Dunno. I don't know much about fairies.
